Although all real estate agents are licensed to buy and sell homes, only REALTORS® are members of the National Association of REALTORS®. Licensed REALTORS® subscribe to a very strict code of ethics, including pledging to put the interests of buyers and sellers over their own, to treat all parties with honesty and without exaggeration or misrepresentation, to cooperate with other agents when it is the best interests of the buyer or seller, and fourteen other rules of ethics. REALTORS® pledge to follow this code, whereas non-affiliates do not. The Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) symbol is the mark of a real estate professional who has made the commitment to provide a high level of professional services by securing a strong educational foundation. REALTORS® with the GRI designation are highly trained in many areas of real estate to better serve and protect their clients. Members of the Council of Residential Specialists have undergone rigorous education and training to develop an in-depth knowledge of business planning, making listing presentations, negotiating and closing transactions. Becoming a CRS enables access to a wide referral network of 45,000 other CRS members that enables a higher level of networking and a higher standard of professionalism for CRS members and their clients. An e-Pro REALTOR® has taken extensive and comprehensive training on Internet business principles and Internet marketing. Licensed e-Pro realtors have comprehensive knowledge of how to construct a web-marketing strategy specifically tailored to each client’s needs and have developed skills for other web management.
