Lakeville Homes for Sale

Lakeville

Lakeville is the fastest growing suburb in the entire Twin Cities, and if you take a look around, you can begin to see why. This prosperous exurb on the edge of the Twin Cities suburbs, 23 miles south of downtown Minneapolis, still retains the small-town charm of its rural origins. Lakeville homes offer the peace and security of rural living and the excitement and convenience of living near the city. Most Lakeville homes are about 23 miles away from the Twin Cities, but a quick ride on Interstate Highway 35 puts residents just a half hour from the excitement of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Thus buying a home in Lakeville, Minnesota affords potential homeowners the opportunity to live in a peaceful, exurban community with a rural feel while still being only a half hour from urban excitement. Lakeville, with its namesake lakes and ponds that make it such a beautiful section of Minnesota, and with its beautiful homes and unique small-town charm, make it a great place to buy a home.

As its name suggests, Lakeville is home to some beautiful lakeside property. Gorgeous lakeside homes on Lake Marion and Orchard Lake as well as public beach accesses make Lakeville a prime spot for summertime recreation, with fishing, boating, and swimming being popular pastimes. Wintertime affords the opportunity for ice fishing, skating, and other winter events.

But you don’t need to buy a beautiful lakeside home in Lakeville to enjoy the lake life. The Lakeville Parks and Recreation Department maintain over 60 parks and public properties enabling Lakeville residents the use of skating rinks, public fishing areas, swimming beaches, and more. And there is much, much more to Lakeville’s parks than beaches and skating rinks: Between neighborhood and community parks, Lakeville is home to baseball and softball fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, running and biking trails, nature areas, greenways, picnic areas, conservation areas, and a Senior Center and an Arts Center.

In addition to all of Lakeville’s lakefront property, Lakeville is also home to a number of farming properties. Though Lakeville is a prosperous exurb and is the fastest-growing suburb in the Twin Cities, its location on the fringe of the Twin Cities suburbs and its rich farming history still afford residents a number of rural farmland communities. Large farms still in operation produce a large amount of corn, soybeans, and dairy products; and indeed, a number of Lakeville homeowners employ themselves handsomely in this fashion. Lakeville homeowners that do not own farmland nonetheless will enjoy the peaceful, rural feel that the remaining farms in Lakeville add to the city.

Of course, to paint a picture of Lakeville as merely another farming community-turned suburb would ignore all that there is going on in this fast-growing city. Nearby attractions include the Mall of America, Valleyfair amusement park, the Minnesota Zoo, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and more. Golfers can take a break on the Crystal Lake Golf Course or at Heritage Links, Lakeville’s two golf courses. Lakeville is home to a number of recreational opportunities, including winter skiing, bowling, laser tag, arcades, mini golf, and more. And of course, downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul are only a quick half-hour drive away.

So while buying a home in Lakeville can mean buying the peaceful farm home of your dreams, it can also mean buying a beautiful lakehome just minutes from suburban recreation and only 30 minutes from downtown excitement. Considering all that Lakeville has to offer, there isn’t a better time to buy a home in Lakeville, the fastest growing and one of the most exciting suburbs in the Twin Cities.
