Medina Homes for Sale

Medina is an outer suburb north of Lake Minnetonka and west of Plymouth, making Medina real estate notable for its independence, tranquility and remote suburban location. Despite being a rather large suburb—there are 27 total square miles of Medina property—Medina is home to only 4,000 people, giving it a comparatively small population density. Medina’s uniquely sparse layout makes it stand out from other Minneapolis suburbs: its sparse population makes it an ideal location for those seeking the quiet serenity and open space of Minnesota lakeside real estate without sacrificing location—Medina’s convenient location is only a few miles from the shopping centers of Twin Cities suburbs and the excitement of downtown Minneapolis.

Medina’s real estate stands apart from the rest of Minnesota real estate and other suburban real estate in that Medina real estate offers a level of privacy and independence to which other suburbs cannot even compare. With a total of almost 18,000 acres in the city of Medina, only 4,000 residents, and only 1,300 households, the average Medina homeowner can own over thirteen acres to him or herself—a level of privacy to which other suburbs cannot even compare. And, like other Minnesotan cities and homes, Medina real estate offers an abundance of lakeshore and lakeside property. In total, the city offers almost one and a half square miles of water and lakeshore, making private, luxurious cabins and lakehomes just as available as private townhomes.

But what makes Medina unique is not only its privacy, serenity, and lakeside luxury—it is its combination of peaceful serenity and convenient location. Medina is only a few miles from Wayzata Boulevard shopping or Plymouth’s bustling downtown areas, restaurants, and venues. Go a few extra miles and Maple Grove’s Arbor Lakes offers as many shopping and entertainment venues as you could possibly need. And if you’d like to escape to the city for a night or two, Minneapolis is only 20 miles and a half-hour drive away. There is more than one city in Minnesota that offers a remote tranquility, but Medina is unique by being remote and yet simultaneously conveniently close.

Of course, that’s not all Medina has to offer. The city is home to seven local parks, three nature areas, and two regional and state parks. Those parks are home to exciting events year-round, from wooded horseback riding to little league baseball events to making maple syrup. Medina is also home to an extensive trail system that allow for walking, jogging, and bike-riding through the city’s beautiful wooded and lakeside property and scenery. The city offers a highly-reputable public golf course as well as a number of athletic fields for the city’s organized sports as well as for public recreation.

But despite Medina’s peaceful setting, it still manages to maintain a strong economy. Medina is home to Polaris Industries, a manufacturer of neighborhood vehicles, with revenue in the multiple billions. And there are a number of other major companies in Medina’s local area—in Plymouth and in Wayzata—making working from Medina an easy prospect.

Medina’s location—only a few minutes from downtown Plymouth or Wayzata—enable Medina homeowners to experience the tranquility of a peaceful cabin simultaneously with the convenience of a major suburb. Shopping and entertainment can be found in the close, major suburbs, as well as in Minneapolis. This unique combination, in addition to its lakeside homes and extensive parkland, make buying a home in Medina a purchase unlike any other.
