Minnetrista Homes for Sale

Minnetrista lies on the outer edge of Hennepin County and on the edge of Minneapolis suburbs, offering a unique mix between suburban and rural life. The city is rather large and sparse—the average household owns over 13 acres of land, and the city still maintains an active agricultural community. The city is itself situated on and around a number of lakes, including a number of bays on Lake Minnetonka. Thus, the city’s unique combination of peaceful rural life, comfortable suburban life, and lakeside real estate make buying a home in Minnetrista a wonderful experience.

Minnetrista’s lakes are abundant and ubiquitous—within the city’s limits, there are an unimaginable five square miles of water. That abundance of water—over 15% of the city’s total area—enables a wide range of lakeside property, lakeshore real estate, cabins, and lakehomes for those interested in buying a home on a lake. Other residents can enjoy the views and beautiful scenery provided by the cities many lakes, including Whitetail Lake, Little Long Lake, Mud Lake, Ox Yoke Lake, Saunders Lake, as well as a number of bays right on Lake Minnetonka. And among the city’s 19 lakes, there is a public boat access to Whitetail Lake, to Saunders Lake, to Little Long Lake, and to three points on Lake Minnetonka: on Phelps Bay, on Halstead Bay, and at Kings Point. Thus, any owner of Minnetrista real estate, whether they own lakeside real estate or not, can enjoy the lakeside lifestyle of Lake Minnetonka and the surrounding lakes.

Of course, there’s much more to Minnetrista than its unique and abundant lakeshore property. Minnetrista offers a unique combination of outer-ring suburban life and rural, agricultural community. Without any identifiable downtown area, Minnetrista homes offer a peaceful location without the noise or bustle of inner suburbs, and yet the nearby city of Mound, with its downtown area, offers businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues. And if you ever want to escape into the city for some of its restaurants or entertainment venues, downtown Minneapolis is just 25 miles or a little over a half-hour drive away.

Not that it would be necessary to get away from Minnetrista—besides its many miles of lakeshore property, Minnetrista has 20 parks and public boat accesses, with playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, lighted ballfields for baseball and softball, volleyball courts, horseshoe pitches, public beaches, picnic pavilions, and miles of trails that stretch over bridges, throughout the city’s lakes and ponds. The publicly maintained trails make for great recreational walking as well as jogging and biking.

But most of all, besides its lakes, Minnetrista offers a peacefully quiet and remote independence. Its 31 square miles of lands are home to only 4,400 people and 1,500 households, meaning each house is separated on average by over 13 acres. Its lack of downtown area and its active agricultural community, which grows and maintains beans, corn, hay, as well as caring for horses, give its otherwise lakeside suburban lifestyle an agricultural atmosphere. That, together with its five square miles of lakeshore property and lakeside lifestyle, is what makes buying a home in Minnetrista worth every penny.
