New Hope Homes for Sale

New Hope

If you’re looking to buy a home in a city with small-town charm that doesn’t skimp on excitement, look no further than New Hope, Minnesota. This five-square mile inner suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul is home to a huge number of events and things to do, from movie theatres and carnivals to live theatres and festivals. New Hope is also a great place to raise a family, with abundant parkland and some of the best schools in Minnesota. With great schools, great parks, and lots going on, New Hope is one of the best places to buy a home in all of Minnesota.

Those who buy a house in New Hope are happy to know that New Hope is home to some of the best public schools in Minnesota. In fact, Robbinsdale Area Schools District, New Hope’s primary school district, holds the prestige of having both its high schools – both Robbinsdale Cooper High School and Robbinsdale Armstrong High School – featured in Newsweek as two of America’s top public high schools. New Hope families have the option of sending their children to Spanish immersion schools or to send their children to private Catholic schools, in addition to being able to place their children in nationally-ranked public schools. So one of the best reasons to buy a home in New Hope is the great schools.

But that isn’t the only good reason to buy a home in New Hope. Though the city is small, at just five square miles, it’s home to 20 parks and over 200 acres of parkland. That means that for every square mile, there are four parks in the city, making it one of the best suburbs of all of Minneapolis and St. Paul and one of the best cities in Minnesota for the amount of parks per square mile. Basically, wherever you buy a home in New Hope, you will be within a quarter mile of a park, and usually even closer. That means that New Hope’s ballfields, playgrounds, wintertime skating rinks, biking and jogging paths, and even things like skate parks and Frisbee golf courses, are usually within walking distance of any New Hope home. With all that parkland nearby, having a family picnic or organizing a pick-up game of basketball is about as easy and convenient as it gets. And with New Hope’s abundant parkland and great schools, it’s definitely one of the better places to purchase a home and raise a family.

But New Hope isn’t just great for families and children; it’s great for adults as well. As a small town, New Hope works hard to constantly put on fun events and activities to bring the city together. From the Duk Duk Daze festival, which hosts a huge fireworks display, carnival rides, parades, and more, to smaller events like the Bike Rodeo, which helps residents learn bike safety with obstacle courses and prizes, New Hope always has something going on.

And it’s not just community events that make New Hope such a fun place. Unique and exciting entertainment venues make every night of the week fun. The New Hope Cinema Grill lets residents and homeowners enjoy watching a movie while having a meal and drinks with friends. The local Top Hat theatre makes it so that you don’t have to drive downtown to catch a live theatre show. Doyle’s Bowling Longue gives residents a bowling alley with friendly faces and beer on tap. All this can be found in a tiny city that’s almost ten times smaller than most Minneapolis-St. Paul suburbs. And if all that weren’t enough, New Hope is just a 15-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. So all the bars, restaurants, sports venues, concerts, and nightlife of the city is just a half-hour round trip away.

So there you have it. Award-winning schools, abundant parkland, fun and frequent community events, and tons to do make New Hope one of the best places to buy a home. Families will love the schools and the kid-focused community events, and adults will love the city’s urban excitement and entertainment venues. New Hope Community Events

One of the best reasons to buy a home in New Hope is its small town charm. Unlike larger suburbs that claim a sense of community and charm, New Hope really exemplifies it by being able to bring its residents together over its five square miles. Through festivals and park events and crafts and more, New Hope brings out a sense of community friendliness and welcoming that other Minnesota towns lack. Here’s a snapshot of some of those events that bring the community together:

  • Duk Duk Daze is New Hope’s big annual community celebration, typically held in the middle of July. This festival hosts a variety of fun events for the whole family, with a gigantic fireworks display, carnival rides and games, live music, parades, beer tents, sports tournaments, food, and much more!
  • On Saturdays during the summer and fall, the New Hope Community Farmers Market offers fresh, local, organic produce bringing the city together.
  • Occasionally throughout the year, New Hope will host the Bike Rodeo, a great family event. Bike riders challenge themselves with obstacle courses and kids learn bike safety. There’s food, refreshments, prizes, and more.

These three events are just a small sample – there are other events from a huge host of recreational events to car fairs and parades and much more. For more information on these and other events, visit New Hope’s community calendar online at http://www.ci.new-hope.mn.us/eservices/calendar.shtml.

New Hope Parks and Lakes

Although New Hope is only five square miles in size, making it one of the smallest Minnesotan suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul, it still is home to 20 total parks and over 200 acres of parkland. Considering the town’s small size, that’s a huge number of parks to have. Thanks to that abundance of parkland, practically every home in New Hope is just a quarter mile or less from a New Hope Park. So no matter where you buy a home in New Hope, you’ll be buying a home in a good location with nearby playgrounds, tennis courts, ball fields, skating rinks, walking trails, and more. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of New Hope’s parks:

  • Northwood Park is New Hope’s favorite city park. It’s home to basketball courts, playgrounds, a picnic shelter with grills and tables, a skating rink in the winter, and much more.
  • Sunnyside Park, in addition to being home to ballfields, basketball courts, and a playground, is also home to a Frisbee golf course.
  • The New Hope Village Golf Course, in addition to featuring nine holes of golf, is also home to picnic areas with grills and a shelter.
  • Civic Center Park is home to two ballfields, a soccer field, a lighted basketball court, a picnic area with a shelter, grills, and tables, an outdoor lighted winter skating rink, four lighted tennis courts, and lighted volleyball courts.

But these four parks are just a small sample. For more information on these and New Hope’s 16 other parks, visit New Hope online at http://www.ci.new-hope.mn.us/departments/parksrecreation/parkstrails/parks.shtml.

As a small town, New Hope is not home to any major lakes, although it does feature a number of ponds.
