Victoria Homes for Sale

Victoria is a small city on the outer ring of Minneapolis suburbs. Although Victoria is small, it is one of the most popular places to buy a home, as it has been rapidly growing as the suburbs of Minnesota have expanded. What is it that makes Victoria such a popular place to buy a house?

It could be the parks. Victoria, despite being small, is home to 18 parks, including the expansive Carver Park Reserve. The city, despite being only 8.5 square miles of property, has over three square miles of parkland within the city—over a third of the city’s property is public parkland. Thus, the open space and recreational opportunities afforded by the city can hardly be beaten anywhere else in the Twin Cities, even by some of Minneapolis’ largest suburbs. The Victoria Parks and Recreation Department’s 18 parks and reserve feature ten playgrounds, three areas with basketball courts, two places with volleyball courts, three spots with tennis courts, two spots with soccer fields, two parks with gyms, one skate park, a number of picnic tables and amenities, and three parks home to lakeside property and shoreline. In addition to these parks, the city also maintains a recreation center with a full gym, an ice rink for community hockey leagues and for ice-skating, a fitness center, and more. And on top of all these amenities, the city is also home to many miles of trails through the city’s woodlands and parks, perfect for walking, jogging, and biking. Thus the city’s large amenities draw many people looking to buy a home—because other cities find it hard to compete with Victoria’s three-square miles of parkland.

But it’s not just the parks that is drawing first-time homebuyers and others looking to buy a home to Victoria—Victoria is also home to nine lakes. The city is nicknamed “The City of Parks and Lakes” for its dense concentration of parkland and lakes in under ten square miles. The majority of Victoria’s lakes are rather large, affording miles of shoreline and a large number of lake homes and lakeside real estate for interested buyers. Those looking to buy a house on lakeshore property will find it easily in Victoria; those not looking to buy a home directly on the lakeshore will still be able to enjoy the nearby public beaches and natural, scenic beauty of Victoria’s many lakes. In total, the city in total has over 1.5 square miles of lakes and lakeside property, totaling almost 20% of the city’s entire area. Thus, the city’s lakes and parkland together make up more than half of the entire area of the city! That incredible amount of parkland and lake area more than merits the city’s nickname—“The City of Parks and Lakes”—and more than explains the city’s popularity as a great place to buy a home.

And on top of the city’s parks and lakes, Victoria’s location also makes it a popular place to buy a home. The city is just over 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis, and is close to all the nearby conveniences of Chanhassen, and, farther, Eden Prairie. Of course, Victoria has its own conveniences and venues in its own downtown area. Yet all these conveniences do not detract from the privacy, peace, and independence of Victoria homes, which, as a result of being on the outer ring of suburbs, are safe and serene.

Buying a home in Victoria gives unparalleled access to its 2000+ acres of parkland, its 1.5 square miles of lake area, and its peaceful atmosphere. Its endless amenities and beautiful location, with open spaces, dense woodlands, and beautiful views from the lake make it a great place to call home.
